Heritage Early Childhood School in Liberty Township opens a five-day superhero-themed Spirit Week on Monday, Oct. 5, with daily dress-up themes and activities tied to the school's biggest annual fundraiser.
The Lakota Local Schools campus, which serves about 600 kindergarten through second-grade students, is calling the week "Unleash Your Brave Heart Spirit Week." Each day carries a different theme built around kindness, courage and teamwork, according to the school's announcement.
Here's the day-by-day schedule:
- Monday, Oct. 5: Super Kindness Day. Wear yellow and look for ways to spread kindness.
- Tuesday, Oct. 6: Team-Up Tuesday. Dress in matching colors or coordinated outfits with friends or classmates.
- Wednesday, Oct. 7: Hero Training Day. Wear athletic clothing for superhero training activities.
- Thursday, Oct. 8: Hero or Villain Day. Wear colors inspired by a favorite hero or villain. No costumes required.
- Friday, Oct. 9: Unleash Your Brave Heart. Students wear their Raise-A-Thon shirts and comfortable clothes for the "Hero's Final Battle" event.
The week builds toward Friday's Raise-A-Thon finale. The Heritage PTO describes the Raise-A-Thon as the school's largest fundraiser, according to a separate volunteer recruitment post. The money funds student programs throughout the school year. All students participate.
The PTO is still seeking volunteers for Friday's event. Families can reach the PTO at [email protected].
