A three-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Hamilton Eaton Road in Milford Township on Tuesday killed Christine Rhoads-Larsen, 44, the owner of Itty Bitty Goat Boutique.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office said Rhoads-Larsen was driving a 2023 Buick Enclave southbound on U.S. 127 at approximately 7:34 p.m. when a 2009 Toyota Camry traveling on Hamilton Eaton Road failed to yield at the intersection and struck the driver's side of her SUV. The collision pushed the Enclave into the northbound lanes of U.S. 127, where a 2020 Ford F-250 pulling a trailer struck its passenger side. Both vehicles left the north side of the roadway.

Rhoads-Larsen was unresponsive when first responders arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Butler County Coroner's Office determined she died from head and neck blunt-force trauma.

The F-250's driver and passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to UC West Chester Hospital. The Toyota Camry driver was evaluated at the scene and reported no injuries.

No charges announced

Sheriff Richard K. Jones issued a statement Wednesday confirming the crash details. The Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, known as S.T.A.R.T., responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation. No charges or citations had been announced as of Saturday, August 1.

Fair community remembers Rhoads-Larsen

Andy Korb, of Oxford, a childhood friend who knew Rhoads-Larsen through 4-H, told WCPO she was headed back to the fair to be with her family when the crash occurred. Her two children also showed animals at the fair.

Korb told the Journal-News he is organizing a community fund for Rhoads-Larsen's children. "Nothing's going to correct any of what just happened, but hopefully [it will create] somewhat of an opportunity for these young people in the future," he said.
