A rollover crash involving multiple vehicles and entrapment shut down several roads near one of West Chester Township's busiest intersections Wednesday evening, Aug. 5.

West Chester police and firefighters responded to the scene near Union Centre Boulevard and Beckett Road, but the number of people hurt and the severity of their injuries had not been released as of 7:35 p.m., according to WLWT.

The crash forced closures on westbound Union Centre Boulevard at Beckett Road and on Beckett Road in both directions near the West Chester Fire Department station. West Chester police said the roads were expected to remain closed until at least 8 p.m. while emergency crews worked the scene.

Butler Warren Road and State Route 42, also affected by the incident, reopened earlier in the evening, according to Local 12. Barrett Road at Cox Road was expected to remain closed longer, with no specific reopening time given by West Chester police.

West Chester police urged drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the scene was fully cleared.
