West Chester Road will shut down to through traffic between Barret Road and Selkirk Drive on Wednesday, Sept. 23, for a Duke Energy transmission pole replacement.

The Butler County Engineer's Office announced the closure will run from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. The work is expected to wrap up in one night but could stretch to a second, the office said. No specific date for a possible second closure has been confirmed.

Drivers heading eastbound on West Chester Road will detour northeast on Revere Run, northwest on Wintergreen Drive, west on Hollywood Drive, southwest on Forestview Drive and south on Barret Road. Westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.

This is the second attempt at the project. Duke Energy had scheduled the same pole replacement for June 24 on the same stretch of road, but postponed it that morning without explanation.

The Butler County Engineer's Office encouraged drivers to check bceo.org and its social media accounts on X and Facebook at @bceonews for schedule updates closer to the closure date.
