West Chester Township will not renew its license agreement with Further Festivals for the Voices of America Country Music Festival, making the August 2026 event the last at Voice of America MetroPark.
The township announced the decision Thursday, saying the festival requires significant resources for public safety along with heavy operational planning and property restoration after each event. Officials concluded those costs are not worth it, stating the festival has not produced a measurable local economic benefit sufficient to offset those impacts, according to WCPO, which first reported the township's release.
The four-day festival has drawn more than 100,000 attendees in each of the past two years. That crowd demands resources. Packed into a Butler County park over four days, the event requires police staffing, fire and EMS coverage, traffic management, and weeks of grounds repair afterward. The township did not release specific staffing numbers or overtime costs.
Under the original license agreement, renewals for 2025 and 2026 were automatic. Continuing into 2027 or 2028 required both parties to agree. West Chester declined, saying it weighed the event's growing demands against the long-term capacity and fit at the current site.
2026 festival still on
The decision does not affect this year's event. The 2026 VOA Country Music Festival runs Thursday, August 6, through Sunday, August 9, at Voice of America MetroPark, with headliners Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton and Jordan Davis. What's next
Further Festivals had not publicly responded to the announcement as of Thursday evening. No township meeting or timeline for the park's future use has been announced.
The festival debuted in 2023 with roughly 80,000 attendees and grew past 100,000 by 2024. Whether Further Festivals seeks a new venue in the region remains an open question heading into the event's final West Chester run.
