Heritage school hosts Veterans Day celebration Nov. 6

Heritage Early Childhood School in Liberty Township is asking local veterans to RSVP by Friday, Oct. 30 for a Veterans Day celebration the school will hold Friday, Nov. 6.

A student-led program begins at 2 p.m., followed by a school-wide parade at 3 p.m., according to the school's announcement. During the parade, veterans and their guests will walk through the lower level of the building while students line the hallways.

The Lakota Local School District campus, which serves kindergarten through second grade, said veterans who prefer not to walk the parade route may remain seated in the café. The building has handicap-accessible ramps, and veterans are welcome to bring wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids.

An RSVP form on the school's website must be completed by the deadline so staff can prepare for guests. The school is also seeking volunteers to help with the ceremony through a separate sign-up link on the same page.
