Niederman Family Farm's sunflower field on Lesourdsville West Chester Road in Liberty Township is open for picking, and four more Butler County farms are offering blooming fields through September.

Mid-August marks the start of peak sunflower season across the region, according to Travel Butler County, which published its 2026 guide to five local farms on Aug. 10. Bloom timing varies by weather. The tourism bureau advises calling each farm before visiting to confirm the sunflowers are up.

Here's where to go:

Niederman Family Farm — 5110 Lesourdsville West Chester Road, Liberty Township. The family-owned farm offers u-pick sunflowers, a petting zoo, corn maze and jumping pillow. Niederman's Fall Festival opens Sept. 25 and runs through Nov. 1, featuring a 14-acre corn maze designed as a tribute to the farm's very first maze planted 25 years ago and a celebration of America's 250th birthday. The farm is known for its cinnamon-sugar donuts. Hours and pricing for the sunflower field are not listed on the farm's website; check the farm's social media pages or call ahead.

Burwinkel Farms — 4359 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross. U-pick sunflowers, a farm market and special events including "Sips in Sunflowers" sunset hayrides and Sunflower Yoga. Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through the season.

Barn-N-Bunk Farm Market — 3677 Wayne Madison Road, Trenton. Sunflower rows plus a farm market selling fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted items and ice cream. Fall Festival Weekends run Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 26 through Oct. 25, noon to 5 p.m. Phone: (513) 988-9211.

Jackson Family Farm — 6760 W. Alexandria Road, Middletown. A maintained sunflower field with fall activities including a jumping pad, pumpkin cannon and tractor rides.

Garver Family Farm — 6716 Hamilton Lebanon Road, Monroe. Sunflower field planted at the corner of Hamilton-Middletown Road and Yankee Road. The farm also operates a deli counter, coffee and wine bar, and sells fresh baked goods and produce.

All five fields typically bloom from mid-August into September, and Niederman is the closest to West Chester and Liberty Township. Call ahead before any visit to confirm the flowers are in bloom.
