Lakota East's girls soccer shutout streak ended Tuesday, Sept. 1, in a 4-0 loss at Ross.

The Lady Hawks (3-2-1) managed little offense against the unbeaten Rams (6-0). Ross goalkeeper Mia Michel needed just one save for the shutout.

Four different Ross players scored. Sophomore Ava Bush finished with a goal and an assist, junior Mady Koeninger added a goal, sophomore Maci Taylor had a goal and an assist, and sophomore Harper Trumbell also scored. Senior McKenna Gildea recorded an assist.

The loss snapped a two-game run in which Lakota East had not allowed a goal. The Lady Hawks beat Middletown 6-0 in a Greater Miami Conference (GMC) opener and followed with a 2-0 road win over Kings, according to the Lakota East athletics site.

Senior Bailey Bacher and Lexi Stelzer scored against Kings, and senior goalkeeper Emmaline Slusher made 10 saves in that match.

Ross coach Patrick O'Leary praised Lakota East after the win.

"We know as a coaching staff that they're a perennial powerhouse," O'Leary told The Report Ohio. "So we're excited when we get to that point, but at the same time, we just want to take it one step at a time."

Through six matches, Ross has outscored opponents 22-1 with five shutouts. Michel, a junior, recorded 18 shutouts as a sophomore in 2025. That total tied for the second-highest single-season mark in the OHSAA record book, according to The Report Ohio.

Lakota East entered the week ranked No. 4 in The Report Ohio's coverage-area poll. The Lady Hawks carry eight seniors and 10 juniors on the roster. Bacher had three goals and three assists through the season's first four matches, and Slusher led the GMC with 25 saves as of Aug. 28.

Because Ross plays in the Southwestern Buckeye League, the loss does not affect Lakota East's GMC record. The Lady Hawks remain 1-0 in conference play.

Lakota East travels to Fairfield on Thursday, Sept. 3.
