Kenyon Norman rushed for 182 yards on 15 carries as Lakota West rolled past Colerain 48-0 in a Greater Miami Conference game Friday, Oct. 9.

The WLWT/TriState Football stat box credited the senior tailback with three touchdowns, according to WLWT. Norman was named a Friday Night Star for his performance against the Cardinals.

The shutout was the Firebirds' second straight. It also marked a return for head coach Tom Bolden, who previously coached at Colerain before taking over at Lakota West.

Norman, a Northwestern University commit, entered the game with 20 touchdowns on the season, according to WLWT. He posted 145 yards and four touchdowns in the Week 7 shutout of Middletown on Oct. 2 and has now topped 100 rushing yards in both games.

The Colerain offense never got going. Lakota West's defense held the Cardinals to 69 total yards all night. Senior linebacker Andrew Fryer led the effort with 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Colerain had scored 88 points in back-to-back wins over Oak Hills and Sycamore heading into the matchup, according to The Report Ohio's Week 8 preview. None of that momentum carried over against a Lakota West defense that had allowed just seven points over its previous two games.

Fryer has anchored that defensive surge. On X on Monday, Oct. 5, the senior linebacker posted that he tallied 16 total tackles, a forced fumble and a pass breakup over Weeks 6 and 7.

@AndrewFryer27: "Great last two weeks 38-7 win against Fairfield. 35-0 against Middletown! Defense continues to dominate."

Bolden told WCPO in August that Norman didn't start playing football until eighth grade. "The sky is the limit for this young man," Bolden said ahead of the Lakota East rivalry game.

Through eight games, Norman has rushed for three consecutive 200-yard performances earlier in the season and has not dipped below 100 yards since. Fryer recorded 107 tackles last season, including 21 in a playoff loss to Moeller.

The win improves Lakota West to 7-1. The Firebirds' only loss this season came against Princeton, 27-24. Colerain drops to 4-4.
