Seton volleyball opens its Division I playoff run against Middletown at Lakota East High School on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.

The Saints carry a 63-match win streak into the postseason and are chasing a third consecutive state championship. WCPO reported Oct. 24 the Saints' record at 26-2 entering the playoffs. Cleveland.com listed Seton at 22-0 as of Oct. 19. WCPO's own article also described the team as having completed "a second consecutive undefeated season," so the figures do not fully reconcile across sources.

Seton enters the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) tournament as the top seed in the Southwest 4 bracket and the consensus No. 1 team in Ohio. Cleveland.com ranked the Saints first in its statewide Top 20. A separate Cleveland.com analysis called them "the cleanest favorite in the division." MaxPreps slotted them No. 25 nationally as of Oct. 20.

Senior middle hitter Charley Moeddel, a Xavier commit, leads Seton with 354 kills, according to MaxPreps. Junior Penelope Reisman has recorded 691 assists.

"If we can finish what we started, these girls would have lost two varsity matches their entire career," head coach Kelly Crowley told WCPO.

The program's postseason history stretches back decades. Seton's 102-game winning streak in the 1980s produced back-to-back state titles in 1985 and 1986, according to WCPO. That run remains the longest in Ohio high school volleyball history.

The OHSAA Southwest 4 bracket also features No. 11 Lakota West against No. 16 Fairfield at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. The bracket does not list a venue for that match.

If Seton and Lakota West both win, they would meet in the second round on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. Lakota East High School is located at 6840 Lakota Lane in Liberty Township.
