West Chester Township's Keehner Park and the Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty will split $400,000 in state capital funding after Gov. Mike DeWine signed Ohio's $3.7 billion capital budget into law. State Sen. George Lang (R-West Chester) helped push the measure through the Senate. Lang's office announced 16 Butler County projects totaling roughly $4.8 million in the bill.

Keehner Park is set to receive $250,000 for what Lang's office described as infrastructure improvements. The Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty will get $150,000, though the club has not publicly detailed how it plans to use the funds.

Those two line items represent the projects most directly tied to the West Chester and Liberty Township communities. The remaining 14 Butler County projects range from a $1 million Advanced Manufacturing Hub Technology Project to $100,000 for the Restore Oxford Community Arts Center.

"Each and every one of these projects will have an impact far beyond just those directly affected," Lang said. "We are also investing into our communities, our homes."

Other notable allocations in Butler County include $800,000 for Middletown Community Foundation Park, $500,000 for a Butler Tech Aviation Hangar Expansion, and $325,000 for Voice of America Athletic Field Improvements.

Lang represents Ohio's 4th Senate District, which covers almost all of Butler County, including West Chester Township and Liberty Township.

Statewide breakdown

The $3.7 billion capital budget funds improvements to public services and facilities across Ohio. The largest chunks go to the Public Works Commission ($645 million), the School Facilities Commission ($611 million), higher education institutions ($425 million), the Department of Behavioral Health ($385 million), and the Department of Natural Resources ($265 million).

Ohio passes a capital budget every two years. No further legislative action is required for the funded projects, though individual project timelines and disbursement schedules have not been announced.

The bill, Senate Bill 450, cleared the Ohio Senate on June 4, 2026, then moved through the House before reaching DeWine's desk.
